I guess it all started with Basildon Hospital Radio way back in the mid 70s. I loved radio, messing around with reel to reel tape decks and playing LPs. But I also loved theatre, and in my teens I was stage crew on many shows at my local theatres in Southend, Westcliff and Basildon, so I was drawn to a career in the professional theatre.
After working in the West End and theatres around the country I decided to move into TV, and I've been lucky enough to do some very well known shows, as well as many very obscure ones! In the 80s I was responsible, as a Production Manager, for shows such as Only Fools And Horses and Just Good Friends for example. As a freelancer outside the BBC I helped make the original series of Gladiators, and later Michael McIntyre's Big Show and The Goes Wrong Show (to name just a few). TV has taken me filming all over the world too - including America, India, Australia and all over Europe.
But in the end it all came back to my first love - radio. Since I retired I've built my own home studio, and presented shows at Box Office Radio, Royal Free Radio, and now All Hit Radio. I can't tell you how excited I am to be able to play the music I love, because I know you will love it too.
